Job Summary:
The Server Dietary Specialist is responsible for creating a high-quality dining experience for customers by assisting with meal preparation and service consistent with regulations and established policies, procedures and best practices. Server Dietary Specialists are responsible for helping the Dietary Supervisor run and operate a clean and orderly kitchen by helping serve meals to residents, prep the dining areas for meals, cleanup after meals, and organizing and preparing for upcoming meals. Assures meals are presented and served to the tenants within the standards of customer service. Assures dining room is always clean and presentable to public.
Qualifications:
- Previous healthcare or restaurant experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent customer service and hospitality skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with tenants, families, and staff, individually and within group settings.
- Ability to build effective teams and collaboration among coworkers. Demonstrated conflict management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Progressive Care policies, vision, mission and values.
- Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and families.
- Work within the department to provide quality and nutritious meals and service to residents.
- Assist with food preparation and serving meals to residents.
- Help maintain a clean and sanitary dietary department.
- Wash dishes and clean the kitchen and dining rooms.
- Assist residents, employees, and guests with a broad range of dietary needs.
Work Environment:
- Primary responsibilities will be conducted in clean, well-lit, climate controlled areas
- The noise is usually moderate or less.
- Exposure to chemical and respiratory hazards.
- Some travel to meetings and seminars may be required.
- Exposed to body fluids, infection, odors and behavior of clients.
