Company Overview:
We are a dynamic and growing food and beverage manufacturing company committed to producing high-quality products. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Plant Accountant to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in our inventory software clean-up project, assist with the creation and review of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and recipes, and work closely with our operations team to ensure accurate data inputs. Additionally, this person will assist in managing inventory and COGS accounting entries. Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Software Clean-Up: Take the lead in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management system, including data validation, updates, and improvements.
- Bill of Materials / Recipes Management: Build and review Bill of Materials (BOMs) and recipes in the system, ensuring correct input of materials, production processes, and product costing.
- Data Verification: Work closely with the operations team to verify inventory and production data inputs for accuracy, addressing discrepancies and ensuring consistent information flow.
- Inventory and COGS Accounting: Assist in managing inventory accounting entries, including recording accurate COGS entries, and ensuring proper valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate and review inventory-related reports, assisting in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes. Provide insights into inventory trends and cost fluctuations.
- Collaboration: Liaise with the operations and finance teams to optimize inventory control processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance inventory processes and ensure best practices in the management of inventory within the company.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in cost accounting and/or plant accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Food and beverage manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
- Software Experience: Experience with FishBowl or similar inventory, manufacturing, warehouse management software is a plus, but willingness to learn is essential.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software and ERP systems essential. Familiarity with Restaurant 365 and QuickBooks Desktop is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy, particularly in data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate with team members in operations essential.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Pay: $32.00 - $42.00 per hour
