What are the responsibilities and job description for the PSM (Process Safety Management) Specialist position at Preston Refrigeration?
The role of the PSM Specialist is to take responsibility for offering specialized knowledge and guidance to support organizations in upholding a secure and compliant work environment. They aid in conducting thorough audits and assessments, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), gathering, and organizing Process Safety Information (PSI) data, and providing overall assistance in guaranteeing a strong PSM process for industrial facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing PSM programs specific to customer facilities.
- Manage and maintain all file system records, both electronically and hard copies, for all applicable PSM records, ensuring compliance with PSM and all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Produce and provide PSM-mandated training to all applicable associates and contractors.
- Inspect customer's facilities recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance with established regulations.
- Perform and assist in IIAR 6 Mechanical Integrity Inspections for the Ammonia System Equipment.
- Perform and assist in PHA, and compliance audits.
- Contributes to existing corporate safety and health programs.
- Monitors local safety and health regulations and provides technical support to field and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.
- Ensures all safety compliance, safety procedures and safety matters for all employees of Preston Refrigeration
- Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
- Willingness to travel as needed throughout the continental US.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance and a motivated, positive attitude.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or associate degree; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to travel 60% of the time with overnight stays when required.
- Must be willing to pursue RETA RAI certification and a PSMP certification
- Working knowledge of PSM/RMP processes
- Effective communication skills.
- RETA certifications CIRO, CRST, CRES are a plus
