Maintenance Electrician

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This is senior level position within our maintenance team. Employees at this level are expected to perform major and minor electronic repairs and improvements in a variety of trades under the direction of a of the maintenance supervisor.

The following list of major duties represents a composite list of typical duties performed by individuals in this position. Specific duties performed by the incumbent will vary depending upon the facility and/or department within the Company.

• Performs assigned duties and acts in a manner that adheres to company safety policies and practices. Helps to maintain a safe work environment.
• Attend daily maintenance meeting to determine work schedule and prepare required documentation.
• Supports the goals and objectives through adherence to company policies and displays teamwork in meeting company objectives.
• Repairs, installs, and inspects electronics or electronic systems as directed trough verbal or written direction diagrams, drawings, or specifications.
• Maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to the organizations electronic systems.
• Determines material or replacement needs and a logical method or repair. Takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs in a timely manner.
• Ensures local, state and national electrical codes are followed and proper materials are used throughout electrical systems.
• Creates or adapts parts as needed to make repairs and improve the performance of various systems.
• Responsible for setting up power supply, conduit and wiring for currently installed equipment and machines, including programmable controllers, while adhering to blueprints, electrical ethics, utilizing voltage tester and hand tools.
• Carry out diagnosis and correct or replace malfunctioning electronic units like the printed circuit boards.
• Machinery and equipment includes, but is not limited to:
  • Plastic container molding machinery
  • Air compressors
  • Special trimming and deflash equipment
  • Material loading equipment
  • Material grinding equipment
  • Machine shop equipment
  • Labelling equipment

Food Safety Responsibilities

• Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all maintenance/electrical work in the facility meets food safety standards in addition to quality standards.
• Always comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and document data correctly.
• Ensure all work product contact surfaces are restored to sanitary condition after any job
• Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to Quality and/or Line/Maintenance Supervision.

Education and Experience Maintenance Electrician

• High school diploma or equivalent; combination of work-related training and experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• In depth knowledge of electrical systems, machinery and circuitry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Certification or degree in Electrical or Industrial Maintenance is preferred.

Additional Work Experience

• Experience with plastics blow molding operations (injection blow molding, extrusion blow molding, ) is a plus.
• Working knowledge of relay control systems and PLC control
• Ability to read, edit, monitor, and modify ladder
• Proficient in reading schematics to trouble shoot hydraulic / pneumatic and electrical

Materials Required

Must have tools to perform all functions of the job/position. A minimum list of tools will be provided by Maintenance Manager.
