Prevailance is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer Analyst Auxiliaries to support U.S. Navy operations by providing expert analysis and assessment of shipboard auxiliary systems. This critical role requires recent hands-on experience, technical expertise, and an ability to contribute to readiness evaluations and inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in shipboard auxiliary systems, including AC&R, pumps, HPUs, steering systems, anchor windlass, reverse osmosis, and compressed air systems
- Oversee auxiliary-related administrative programs, including Tag Out and Refrigerant Logs
- Conduct readiness evaluations utilizing the Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM), with a focus on Chapter 6
- Support INSURV inspections, including knowledge of instructions, Master Event Lists, and Inspection Guides (IIG)
- Apply expertise in Material Maintenance Management (3M) and the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
- Utilize the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) for Equipment Operational Capability (EOC) definitions and scoring
- Travel up to 50% of the time, including multi-day embarkations aboard U.S. Naval vessels
Qualifications:
- Engineering-focused experience as an Auxiliaries Officer (AUXO) on a big-deck Amphibious Ship or Carrier, or LCPO of a shipboard Auxiliaries Division
- 20 years of documented hands-on experience in Auxiliaries engineering
- Recent (within the past 5 years) shipboard Auxiliaries experience
- At least three (3) at-sea tours in an Auxiliaries capacity
- EOOW qualification on at least one platform
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Physically capable of climbing ladders and staying aboard Naval vessels for consecutive days
Strongly Desired Qualifications:
- 25 years of Navy surface ship engineering experience
- Retired LDO, CWO, or E8 / E9
- AC&R tech NEC qualification during active duty
- Experience as an Inspector for the U.S. Navy Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV)
- Experience with Afloat Training Group or TYCOM staff focusing on pre-INSURV preparations
- Proficient communicator, both orally and in writing
- Familiarity with:
- Optimum Fleet Response Plan (OFRP) and execution via the SFTRM
- Functional areas of INSURV Material Inspections, including SOEs and IIGs
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Security Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
