What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant in Home Visiting position at Prevent Child Abuse Delaware?
Primary Position Objective: To support the home visiting programs in Delaware by delivering reflective consultation to Program Managers and/or Supervisors, team members, and Home Visitors of Delaware’s Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting programs. This includes working with the Home Visiting Training & Support Coordinator, project manager and Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC) implementation team on the initiation, development and implementation of Delaware’s IECMHC for Home Visiting program. The consultant will also collect data, maintain records, and provide monthly reports. Flexible schedule is required.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Support home visiting programs: Delivering reflective consultation to Program Managers and/or Supervisors, team members and Home Visitors of Delaware’s Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting programs.
Providing case consultation about infant mental health concerns.
Provide infant mental health trainings on topics that have been identified by the home visiting program teams.
Provide observation and consultation on in-home visits with families
Attend initial consultant training.
Attend monthly individual and group meetings with coordinator.
Attend trainings as assigned/needed.
Develop relationships with community resources that support the social, emotional, and mental health of very young children and their families
Record Keeping: Complete and provide monthly reports of activities
Complete and provide monthly invoices
Complete case notes
Meet with Delaware Leadership:
Attend meetings to keep the Leadership team informed on activities.
Share information about the consultation program.
Provide information and guidance as needed to develop and implement the structure of IECMHC in Home Visiting in Delaware.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in a mental health-related field or additional coursework in mental health after receiving a Master’s Degree in education, child development, nursing, or public health. Two years of experience in early childhood, and the ability to demonstrate a consultative stance.
Commitment to goals of Delaware’s home visiting programs
Demonstrated knowledge of infant and early childhood development, parenting of young children, best practices for supporting families eligible for Delaware’s home visiting services, cultural and linguistic responsiveness, and professional practices
A minimum of three years of work experience with children and families
Participating in reflective practice currently
Preferred completion of an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant training program

Must have valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
Pass a criminal history check, sex offender registry check and child abuse and neglect registry check.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
