HOURS OF WORK: 9:00am - 5:30pm (7 1/2 hours/day)

This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Deputy Creative Director, Video, this position creates impactful video and related digital content that enhances the customer experience across the MTA in a wide variety of digital platforms. The Associate Video Editor conceptualizes, shoots, edits, and finishes videos with the goal of creating dynamic stories about our transit, rail and bus systems and the customers we serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates compelling videos and other digital content that helps customers and employees get the most from the MTA.
- Conceptualize, shoot, edit and finish high impact videos and other digital content on tight turnarounds in a deadline driven environment.
- Perform editing and finishing (color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics) for a variety of public and internal video products.
- Create clear and compelling graphic design, illustrations, motion graphics, and animation for multichannel distribution to MTA’s customers and employees.
- Collaborate with team members and other MTA staff to conceptualize, plan, and execute video projects.
- Plan, manage, and execute video shoots independently.
- Assist with project management and scheduling across the team’s portfolio of work.
- Research and advise on best practices, both technical and creative.
- Maintain an organized library of digital media assets.
- Participate in regular professional training and development and train others as needed.
- Keep abreast of trends and best practices in commercial design, animation, and film to continually improve MTA’s creative products and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highly skilled in creating motion graphics with Adobe After Effects and/or Apple Motion.
- Competency in supporting applications including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Competency in conceptualizing, planning, and managing video shoots.
- Highly skilled at sound mixing.
- Competency in all aspects of field production including shooting, lighting, sound, grip, and transportation.
- Competency with Media Asset Management (MAM) systems
- Strong visual storytelling and problem-solving ability
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex subject matter into easy-to-understand designs and narrative.
- Must have flexibility to take on many roles in production and post-production.
- Must possess attention to detail, excellent visual and verbal communication skills.
- Must have ability to work on tight deadlines, including occasional weekend and overnight shifts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, film, video, illustration, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 3 years full-time experience working in design, video editing, and post-production, preferably at a high-end post facility or creative agency/studio.
- Experience collaborating with animators, 3D, and other media.
PREFERRED:
- Prior experience working in a large, multi-faceted, fast-paced organization or governmental body.
- Experience with Sony cameras and workflow, especially A7S3.
- Deep expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud.
