Role Summary:
The Project Superintendent is a full-time, salaried employee that is regarded as a highly experienced and
professional representative of the company. The primary role will be to ensure the success of all assigned
projects from the beginning to end by providing expert guidance and leadership of the subcontractors and
company work force. The Superintendent will become familiar with company processes and methods and
will be expected to implement them successfully in all aspects of the project to include; pre-construction,
site and risk assessment, scheduling, plan review, subcontractor and construction team communications,
labor management and project turn-over. This position will report directly to the Director of Field
Operations for project assignments, training, safety, and performance evaluation. Once assigned to a
project, the Superintendent will work collaboratively with his/her project team by utilizing fast cycle
teamwork.
Ideal Characteristics:
We are seeking a dynamic individual who enjoys coordinating projects and working collaboratively with
others, who is technically oriented and strategic in their thinking. Someone who understands people well,
works at a fast pace and can make decisions quickly.
Qualifications:
• 5 years’ experience as a Construction Superintendent in biotech life sciences.
- Experience with projects involving life science improvements to existing buildings with occupied
tenants.
- Life Sciences: Demonstrated practical experience in biotech and laboratories, including chemistry,
biology, vivarium, cGMP manufacturing and clean rooms preferred.
- Scheduling and coordinating subcontractors on job site from start to finish, with emphasis on high
standards of quality and professionalism.
- Valid California driver’s license, Class C and current automobile insurance required.
- Demonstrated project experience that entailed high level communications with multiple team
members in occupied buildings, along with strategic execution of high-end common area and building
renovation work.
- Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office Suite are required.
- OSHA, LEED and first aid certifications preferred.
