What You’ll Do:
As the Senior Construction Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the financial health and success of The PRG Group and its affiliated companies: PRG Commercial, United Concrete, Construction, and Mountain States Civil. Reporting directly to the Controller, you’ll ensure GAAP compliance across all entities and provide key insights through financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Your work will be integral to enabling strategic decision-making and ensuring our financial processes are accurate and efficient.
Specifically, you’ll:
- Oversee and execute the month-end close process for five companies, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare weekly eight-week cash flow forecasts to support proactive financial planning.
- Accrue all potential liabilities and assist in annual audits to maintain compliance with GAAP standards.
- Partner with leadership to provide meaningful financial reports that drive strategic decisions.
- Retrieve and analyze data from QuickBooks and/or Sage for ad hoc needs.
- Manage fixed asset analysis and tagging programs.
- Prepare annual budgets and three-year financial plans with detailed analysis.
- Collaborate with our CPA firm on year-end tax filings and preparation.
- Ensure revenue recognition aligns with percent-of-completion accounting standards.
- Take on limited project coordination responsibilities to support cross-functional initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table:

- A minimum of five (5) years of construction accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Expertise in GAAP compliance, job cost accounting, and percent-of-completion accounting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (required) and familiarity with Sage and Procore (preferred).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to adapt to the needs of a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
