Job Title: IT Project Manager – Government Platform Implementation
Location: Austin, TX - Hybrid
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of a large-scale government platform rollout. The role involves vendor coordination, stakeholder engagement, technical integration, and change management across multiple counties. The ideal candidate will have strong project leadership skills, public-sector experience, and expertise in managing complex IT projects with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vendor Coordination & Implementation Support
- Serve as the primary liaison between the agency and the vendor during platform onboarding.
- Oversee a structured, phased rollout across participating counties.
- Assist with requirement gathering, troubleshooting, and refining onboarding processes.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure clear communication and expectation alignment.
- Maintain documentation of key contacts, technical resources, and system capabilities.
- Conduct regular status meetings, workshops, and progress updates.
3. Technical Integration & Platform Support
- Support stakeholders in system integration, including file uploads, API usage, and configurations.
- Ensure data formats, security protocols, and transmission methods align with project needs.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve integration challenges.
4. Project Coordination & Execution
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking tasks, milestones, and risks.
- Manage testing, training, and knowledge transfer activities for stakeholders.
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
5. Process Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain documentation of onboarding workflows, technical requirements, and county-specific configurations.
- Provide leadership with regular status reports, risk assessments, and key project updates.
- Capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
6. Issue Resolution & Change Management
- Act as a bridge between stakeholders and vendors to resolve technical and process issues.
- Ensure compliance with IT security and data governance policies.
- Develop and execute change management strategies, including training and communication plans.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience managing large-scale IT projects, preferably in government or public-sector environments.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and integration efforts.
- Experience developing and executing project plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and reporting.
- 5 years of experience in data exchange methods (file uploads, APIs, system integration).
- PMP certification (or equivalent) is required.
