Job Description:
Job Title: Sonographer
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Shift: 5x8 Days
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Pay Range: $2500 - $2700 Weekly gross DOE
Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled sonographer to be responsible for operating sonographic scanners to capture images of patients' internal organs and expectant mothers' developing fetuses. The ultrasound technician may specialize or work in a broad array of specialties including obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds, and neurological, breast, heart, or abdominal sonography. You may also assist radiologists with vascular ultrasound procedure and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain ultrasound procedures, answer questions, and provide patient support.
- Apply ultrasound gel to target areas for imaging.
- Program and adjust the scanner for optimal imaging.
- Capture and present sonograms to Physicians for diagnosis.
- Evaluate image quality and assist in diagnosing conditions.
- Document procedures and maintain patient records.
- Maintain and sterilize equipment and procedure rooms.
- Assist Radiologists with vascular ultrasounds and biopsies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience and strong experience with high risk OB area
- Certifications: RDMS certified with OB-GYN, Abdomen and Vascular; & BLS
