Pride Health is hiring Phlebotomist I to support our client’s medical facility based in Commack NY 11725
This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Location: Commack NY 11725
State of Credentials Licenses Required: NY STATE Phlebotomy certificate
Schedule: It can be either, so the candidates need to be available for both -
A Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
B Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Range: $ 18-21 (The preferred pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume
Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws and collect specimens (blood, urine, fecal) as required.
- Explain the specimen collection process to patients clearly and courteously.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes for accuracy.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as needed.
- Review and confirm physician orders and test requisitions.
- Ensure 100% accuracy when checking specimen labels and requisitions.
- Update patient information in the system.
- Record maintenance and decontamination activities.
- Store specimens according to required conditions and temperature.
- Package specimens for transport to the lab.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum 2 yrs of phlebotomy experience is required.
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
