Pride Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our healthcare team in Chillicothe, Ohio. This is a 40-hour per week, 13-week contract position offering guaranteed hours. Job Summary:
The MLT will perform laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently, supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality results. This role is ideal for professionals with strong laboratory skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Precisely and accurately perform laboratory tests using established quality assurance protocols.
- Assist with the collection and preparation of laboratory specimens.
- Operate and maintain standard clinical laboratory instrumentation and ensure proper documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests and results in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy.
- Provide support to laboratory staff and act as a resource for issues related to laboratory services.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
- Offer excellent customer service and build constructive relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Handle administrative tasks including test documentation, data entry, and communication with other healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Must hold a valid Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification, preferably from ASCP.
- Experience: Previous experience operating laboratory equipment and performing standard clinical laboratory procedures preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Other Requirements: Ability to manage time effectively, handle high-pressure situations, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Skills: Experience with EPIC/Beaker computer systems preferred.
