Senior Tax Manager Job Description:
PrideStaff Financial is working with a well known Tax Accounting firm who is in search of a Senior Tax Manager to join their team. The Senior Tax Manager will work closely with a team of Tax professionals and clients. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee client relationships, delivering complex tax planning and compliance, driving the growth of the practice. The ideal Senior Tax Manager holds a current CPA with 10 years of experience in Tax Accounting, Tax laws, and compliance. The Senior Tax Manager is a full-time, direct hire position in Santa Cruz, CA.
Senior Tax Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Technical Expertise on Complex Tax Issues, Including Mergers & Acquisitions, International Tax, State & Local Tax, Tax Credits & Incentives, & Other Specialized Areas
- Research Complex Tax Matters & Deliver Insightful & Well-Supported Recommendations to Clients & Internal Teams
- Lead Discussions on Technical Tax Topics Within The Practice, Ensuring Knowledge Sharing & Consistent Application of Tax Laws
- Assist With Risk Management & Quality Control Ensuring That All Tax Engagements, Comply With The Practice’s Quality Control Policies & Regulatory Standards
- Monitor & Manage Tax Risks For Both The Practice & Clients, Ensuring That Tax Positions Taken Are Defensible & Aligned With The Practice’s Ethical Standards
- Review & Sign Off on Tax Returns, Ensuring Accuracy, Compliance, & Completeness
- Familiar With Project Management Tools & Techniques to Streamline Workflow & Improve Team Efficiency
- Demonstrates Strong Business Development & Networking Skills With a Track Record of Growing Client Relationships
- Identify Opportunities to Expand Services With Existing Clients, Offering Additional Value-Added Services in Tax & Other Related Areas
- Assist With Additional Accounting & Business Needs as Required
Senior Tax Manager Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- BA/BS in Accounting or Related Field Required, Master’s Preferred
- Must Have a CPA or be an Enrolled Agent (EA)
- 10 Years of Experience in Public Accounting or Tax Accounting, With Knowledge of Tax Compliance, Planning, & Advisory Services
- Proven Experience Managing & Leading Professionals
- Strong Technical Knowledge of Federal, State, & Local Tax Regulations, Including Experience With Complex Tax Returns & Planning
- Excellent Communication & Client Relationships Management Skills, WIth a Proven Ability to Manage Multiple Clients & Projects Simultaneously
- Demonstrates Leadership Abilities, Including Mentoring & Developing Staff
- Lead & Manage Tax Professionals, Providing Mentorship, Guidance, & Support to Ensure High Performance & Professional Development
- Conduct Regular Performance Evaluations, Provide Feedback, & Support The Professional Growth of Team Members Through Training & Development Programs
- Work Closely With Partners & Other Department Leaders to Ensure Seamless Integration of Tax Services With Other Areas of The Practice, Including Audit, Advisory & Consulting
- Contribute to The Strategic Direction of The Practice by Participating in Leadership Meetings, Sharing Insights on Tax Trends, & Driving Operational Improvements
- Proficiency in Tax Software Such as UltraTax, ProSystem, Lacerte & MS Office
