Job Description :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our client's commercial roofing company. The ideal candidate will have expertise in prevailing wages, public works projects, labor compliance, and the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) requirements. This individual will manage the company’s billing process, ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws, and maintain accurate financial records using Sage Accounting Software.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and submit progress and final billings for commercial roofing projects, including public works and prevailing wage jobs.
Ensure compliance with DIR, prevailing wage laws, and certified payroll reporting.
Verify and maintain records of prevailing wage determinations and ensure labor compliance for all public works projects.
Process and track change orders, retention payments, and lien releases.
Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and clients to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
Generate and submit certified payroll reports and other labor compliance documents as required.
Maintain and update billing records in Sage Accounting Software, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
Work with the finance and accounting team to ensure proper job cost allocation and reconciliation.
Stay up to date with state and federal labor compliance regulations affecting public works projects. Qualifications & Requirements :
Strong understanding of prevailing wages, public works regulations, labor compliance, and DIR requirements.
Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software (experience with job cost tracking and project accounting is a plus).
Experience with certified payroll reporting and compliance documentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with construction billing formats, such as AIA billing and progress billing.
Knowledge of lien laws and retention tracking.
Familiarity with e-filing certified payroll through DIR and LCP Tracker. Benefits :
