Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team on a per diem basis starting April 2025. The NP/PA will provide high-quality medical care to patients in our Stamford office, with travel to our Cos Cob office potentially required. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This position offers flexibility with scheduled hours and is ideal for candidates seeking a part-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations of patients.
- Diagnose and treat common medical conditions, offering treatment plans, prescriptions, and referrals as needed.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Educate patients and families regarding health management, preventative care, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
- Provide follow-up care for patients, addressing any concerns or changes in condition.
- Maintain professional knowledge and expertise through continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Nursing (for NP) or a graduate degree
- Licensure/Certification:
- Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
- Board Certification
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an NP or PA (preferred, but new grads will be considered).
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
