Sonographer
Full-time position- 30 hours a week, rotating days, Monday through Friday
Must be RDMS ( AB/OBGYN) and RVT registered
Job Summary:
Perform general and vascular imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries
Clinical:
- Prepare and position patient for imaging procedure
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
- Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctioning equipment to manager
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body
- Move imaging equipment into specified position, determine exposure factors and adjust equipment controls to set proper exposure
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control
- Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs and reports of work performed
- Maintain the proper number of continuing education credits for licensing
- Perform the necessary computer/paper tasks related to patient care
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients
- Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:
Must be AB and RVT certified by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
Working Conditions:
This position may require days, evenings, weekends and holiday shifts, is regularly exposed to blood borne pathogens, radiation, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. Frequently needs to stoop, kneel, place arms over head, crouch or crawl, regularly lifts up to 10 pounds, frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds or more.
