Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Process Safety Engineer - LNG for a major company in the energy sector. This position supports essential process safety management functions, ensuring operational integrity and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in identifying and mitigating process safety risks while working closely with various stakeholders to maintain a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Support process safety management elements, including Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and building siting evaluations.
- Provide technical support in communicating and mitigating process safety risks.
- Maintain and update Process Safety Barrier Health reporting on a day-to-day basis.
- Participate in Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), ensuring the timely completion of action items.
- Assist in the management and investigation of process safety events (PSE).
- Support assessments and oversight in key safety processes.
- Ensure car sealing compliance.
- Develop and revise operating procedures.
- Coordinate Permit to Work and simultaneous operations (SIMOPs).
- Monitor and manage safety-critical elements.
- Identify trends and outliers in process safety metrics.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and industry best practices while fostering a proactive safety culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering; other engineering disciplines will be considered based on experience.
- 3 – 5 years of experience as an Engineer in a process plant environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of process safety fundamentals and risk management principles.
- Must maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Proficiency in analyzing safety data and implementing corrective actions.
