Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Procurement Lead - Oil & Gas for our prestigious client in the energy sector. This key position will involve developing strategic sourcing plans for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) categories, collaborating with internal teams, and driving vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering cost-saving solutions and strategic procurement expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive category strategies aligned with business unit goals, utilizing market intelligence and sustainability initiatives.
- Identify high-risk areas within the category and lead cross-functional teams to develop actionable risk mitigation strategies.
- Formulate and implement cost savings projects to meet organizational savings targets.
- Conduct spend analytics, market research, and cost modeling to support category strategies and business unit objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key natural gas utility sector stakeholders.
- Leverage industry knowledge and technology to identify opportunities for spend leverage and drive supplier negotiations.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices, integrating them into category plans and presenting findings to business units.
- Research assigned commodities/services to understand specifications, risk factors, and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with business units to define the scope of purchases and assess associated risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in strategic sourcing, with proven success in substantial, complex negotiations and cost reduction.
- 2-3 years of experience managing procurement lifecycles, including supplier qualification, contract negotiations, and performance evaluations.
- Experience in the energy, oil, gas, or renewables industries preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Ariba.
- Ability to apply data-driven insights to enhance procurement strategies and improve cost-saving initiatives.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, particularly in energy or utility sectors.
