The Company: Prime Auto USA is an independent used car dealership located in Jackson, TN with a full sales team, finance team, client success team and service team with a total of just under 50 employees and selling just under 100 cars per month. We provide automotive reconditioning to cars that are being prepared to sell including an 80 point inspection as well as on-going repairs for our free 6 month 6,000 mile limited warranty and customer pay work. Job Description: Buyer
The Buyer reports to the Fixed Ops Director and is responsible to identify vehicles in the market to purchase from consumers at wholesale values and to purchase vehicles from auction at wholesale values based on a company Buy Plan. The Buyer has the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the General Manager, Sales Manager and Service Manager to identify the types, price points and quality of vehicles to seek. Provide feedback to those stakeholders of the feasibility of doing so based on the market conditions.
- Create a company Buy Plan based on customer preferences and other Stakeholders.
- Be an individual contributor and/or lead a team to meet the company buy plan.
- Identify opportunities of vehicles that are for sale and qualify them for quality and value proposition.
- Communicate with the seller to understand additional factors about quality and value.
- Confirm the seller is a rational and reliable person with whom to do business.
- Negotiate the price of the vehicle.
- Coordinate with service and transport to confirm the vehicle meets quality standards. Coordinate the purchase and transport of the car back to the dealership.
- Provide required documents to accounting to stock the vehicles purchased into the systems of record based on policy provided by the company.
- Keep proper accounting records as required by the company.
- Complete other assignments as assigned by your direct manager.
- Ensure the Mechanical New Buy Checklists are completed and turned into accounting.

Duties: The Buyer is responsible to maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external partners.
It is typical for the Buyer to complete the following work daily:
- Create and maintain strong relationships of trust and confidence with vendors related to the role.
- Go onto social platforms and markets to review opportunities to purchase vehicles.
- Engage sellers to identify quality and value of vehicles.
- Coordinate the service and transport individuals to confirm quality, purchase and transport the vehicle back to the office.
- Work toward a consistent effort to brand and market our company as a preferred choice for consumers to sell us their used vehicles (regardless of condition).
- Attend auctions or oversee that process as a part of the vehicle buying strategy (as directed).
- Other special projects you see as an opportunity or as assigned by your Manager.
Expected Results:
The activities listed above are to result in:
- A Buy Plan for each location reflective of the consumer preferences and company stakeholders.
- Helping lead the team to meet the company goals related to buying the needed inventory to meet business goals.
- Execute the purchase and transport of vehicles to meet the company Buy Plan.
- Maintain an inventory frontline at levels directed by management.
- Minimize reconditioning of new purchases to expedite how quickly they can go frontline for sale and to improve profit margins and be more competitive in the market which will lead to improved sales, reduced gross chargeoffs and improved net income.

Minimum Requirements for Employment:
- Knowledge of KBB ICO Buying Center
- 5-10 years of Buyer experience or equivalent.
- Ability to hold oneself accountable to meet company goals.
- Demonstrated capability to provide reporting to leadership.
- Demonstrated 5 years of experience in current and historical interest in social media and sales.
- Demonstrated abilities utilizing technology the company utilizes accurately, timely and consistently.
- Other experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Degree in Sales and Marketing is preferred.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and future random drug testing.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
