Summary: An Engineer-In-Training will learn how to manage engineering projects/people and will have the opportunity to travel to various job sites during the application, use and cycling of our control systems.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical) or equivalent and 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability
Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability
Apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
Reasoning Ability
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
Intermediate skills and knowledge of MS Office; AutoCAD and Visio

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist Field Engineers with basic calculations to determine compliance with engineering best practices.
- Perform all duties to promote a safe work environment and safe job performance. Actively participate in all plant safety programs as directed by management.
- Participate in projects and optimization efforts as a training exercise
- Participate and assist in troubleshooting electrical problems and identifying solutions to reduce downtime and minimize maintenance costs.
- Assist in developing maintenance procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable.
- Interface with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructional media for hourly employees.
- As management requires, prepare, and conduct entry-level training for supervisors and hourly personnel on electrical equipment condition assessment and inspection to help develop general troubleshooting ability.
- Assist in initiating, developing, and implementing plant improvement projects, including conceptualizing capital projects and justification of same.
- Participate in technical support assignments to other facilities as needed.
- Performs a variety of routine tasks which provide familiarity with the programs, staff and operating procedures of the company
- Applies prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks
- Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience
- Collects data and gathers information or documents
- Performs standard computations or analysis
- Prepares drawing and visual aids
