Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)
Location: St. Louis MO 63106 & Nearest CBOC locations
Duration: 6 – 12 Months
Shift Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday – Friday)
Qualification
Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Occupational Therapy).
Certifications: Active and unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in any U.S. state.
Certifications: BLS (AHA) and Skill Checklist
Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional occupational therapy experience in a hospital or ambulatory care setting, based on specialty area (e.g., lymphedema, rehabilitation, outpatient therapy).

Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to determine patient needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment programs to improve functional independence.
- Assist patients in regaining motor skills for daily activities, including dressing, eating, and personal hygiene.
- Provide adaptive techniques and assistive devices to enhance mobility and self-sufficiency.
- Train patients on ergonomic strategies and workplace modifications for improved functionality.
- Maintain detailed patient records and progress reports in VA’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Work closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation exercises, home modifications, and assistive technologies.
- Participate in discharge planning and ongoing rehabilitation assessments.
- Ensure compliance with VA safety policies, infection control, and therapy best practices.
