Full-Stack Engineer 2: Contract Opportunity
Location: Seattle, WA
Role: Engineer 2
Contract Duration: 6 months to start, with the possibility of extension
Pay: $60-70/hr DOE
Work Arrangement: HYBRID ROLE in downtown Seattle WA, 3 days a week onsite
Our client is enhancing the customer experience across 350 stores. The team builds and maintains a backend data system for seamless customer experiences, improved transaction security, and accurate data flows. The majority of the work focuses on backend development, particularly supporting Kafka data pipelines. While there is some full stack work using Node and React, we are open to candidates with Java experience. The react / front-end work constitutes a smaller portion of the role and experience with front end is not required. Most of the work involves support and implementing new feature requests.
Role:
- Design and maintain microservices (Java 8 , Spring Boot, Kafka, SQL, Kubernetes)
- Build responsive web applications (React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS)
- Focus on maintainability, testability, and supportability
- Lead design and prototyping
- Implement monitoring solutions
- Participate in on-call support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
- Deliver valuable features and address design deficiencies
Skills & Experience:
- Java 8 , Spring Boot, React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, Kafka, SQL
- Docker, Kubernetes, Git, AWS services (RDS, ECS, EKS, DynamoDB)
- AWS multi-region architectures, data consistency models
- CI/CD pipelines, test-driven development (TDD)
- Terraform, multiple OS and scripting techniques, secure code practices
- Leadership, collaboration, and innovation
