The Distribution Center Supervisor manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of the Cleveland Distribution Center. They will oversee all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving.
Job Duties:
- Strategically plan and manage warehouse, transportation and 3rd party logistics companies handling the companys products.
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle to ensure meeting customers needs.
- Keep track of quality issues related to transportation and handling, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
- Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, and process shipments.
- Manage a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure overall accuracy of inventory on site.
- Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce and resolve any problems arising or complaints.
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
- Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods, especially when overseeing warehouse operations, supervising staff, or monitoring logistics processes.
- Ability to lift and carry materials, boxes, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavier lifting may be required, typically with assistance or the use of lifting equipment.
- Regular bending, stooping, and kneeling to access inventory, inspect goods, or handle shipments.
- Occasionally required to climb ladders or stairs to access higher shelves or storage areas in the warehouse.
- Frequent reaching and handling activities, such as picking up materials, organizing stock, and operating warehouse equipment.
- Good visual and auditory abilities are required to operate equipment, inspect goods, monitor safety protocols, and communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
- Fine motor skills are necessary for tasks such as typing, handling small tools or parts, and using machinery or equipment controls.
- May be required to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment, necessitating coordination and the ability to follow safety protocols.
- Work may be conducted in a variety of environments, including areas that may be hot, cold, or dusty. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the task or environment.
- Occasional extended hours, including weekends or nights, may be required to meet deadlines or address logistical challenges.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred, or 5 years of similar work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 2 years experience with material control and buying required.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven working experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
- Record of successful Distribution and Logistics management
- Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
- Proficient in standard ERP and logistics software
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Understand different types of Kanban processes
- Conscientiously comply with company safety policies and practices and be alert for safety hazards and opportunities to improve safety practices
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Forklift license preferred but not required
