Responsibilities
- Preparing, recording, reporting and/or analyzing complex internal/external financial information in compliance with applicable accounting guidance, regulatory requirements, rating agency guidelines, and/or taxing jurisdictions, within an appropriate control environment.
- Prepare and analyze the Companies income tax accruals and forecasts.
- Preparation of federal and various state income tax returns.
- Preparation of various income tax adjustments.
- Preparation of STAT and GAAP tax notes for financial statements.
- Analysis of the IRC as it relates to the preparation of tax returns.
- Providing support to others.
Some overtime and weekends may be required. This position has the possibility of remote work two days a week after initial training period. Core workday hours form 9:00 AM- 3:00PM.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (or equivalent) degree with a focus in Accounting.
- CPA designation preferred.
- At least three years of progressively increasing responsibilities in the accounting field, or equivalent experience in a business environment, including application of SAP and/or GAAP accounting treatments, or equivalent public accounting experience.
- Demonstrate leadership skills including the ability to lead projects.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, identify issues, and recommend sound business solutions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of computer applications including Excel and Word.
- Broad understanding of financial systems: PeopleSoft Financials (preferred), or equivalent systems.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, as needed.
