We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our largest clients for a position of Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to work in Austin,Texas
Requirements
- Database Administration: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (versions 11g/12c/19c) in both standalone and clustered environments.
- GoldenGate Implementation: Design, configure, and manage Oracle GoldenGate replication solutions for real-time data synchronization and migration.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze database performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and apply tuning techniques to enhance database efficiency.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Pump, and other Oracle tools.
- Monitoring: Proactively monitor database health using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other monitoring tools.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including GoldenGate configuration and replication errors.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain database security policies, user access control, and encryption standards.
- Collaboration: Work with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure database reliability and optimal performance. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in Oracle GoldenGate configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL scripting, and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Specialist in GoldenGate.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
- Knowledge of containerized database environments using Docker or Kubernetes.
