We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our largest clients for a position of Stress Engineer Aerospace to work in Richardson, TX
Requirements
- Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis for aircraft structures using classical hand calculations.
- Apply Boeing Static and Fatigue Analysis Methodologies (Book 1, 2, and 3).
- Utilize Boeing Stress Tools, including IAS, XSA/SA , FEADMS, IDTAS, Moss-Duberg, and FAMOSS.
- Analyze load paths and extract loads from Finite Element Models (FEM).
- Perform Damage Tolerance Analysis and ensure compliance with CFR25.571.
- Determine critical failure modes and conduct analysis to ensure structural integrity.
- Analyze primary/secondary metallic structures of aircraft.
- Read, interpret, and work with engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with cross-functional groups including Design, Materials, and Process Engineering.
- Participate in review meetings with customers and subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Prepare and generate Engineering Stress Reports to establish compliance and safety.
- Interact directly with customers to understand the Scope of Work and develop the methodology required to meet customer expectations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in Aerospace Industry as a Stress Engineer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Stress Analysis of Aerospace Structures.
- Strong familiarity with Boeing Static and Fatigue Analysis Methodologies.
- Proficiency in Boeing Stress Tools: IAS, XSA/SA , FEADMS, IDTAS, Moss-Duberg, and FAMOSS.
- Experience in Damage Tolerance Analysis and compliance with CFR25.571.
- Strong skills in Finite Element Analysis tools such as Nastran, Patran, and Femap.
- Ability to perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance calculations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Experience with metallic and composite structural analysis.
- Familiarity with PATRAN, NASTRAN, FEMAP for stress analysis.
- Experience with MRB (Material Review Board) and SRM (Serviceability Review Manual).
- Familiarity with CATIA V5 and Enovia.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal teams and customers.
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and certifications.
