Primary Responsibilities: The Human Resources Specialistis responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with the Chief Administrative Officer and the Director of Human Resources. This position carries out responsibilities in and assists with the following functional areas: employment, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance. Supports other departments by assisting with the implementation of Human Resources Programs.

HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST
Primary Responsibilities: The Human Resources Specialistis responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with the Chief Administrative Officer and the Director of Human Resources. This position carries out responsibilities in and assists with the following functional areas: employment, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance. Supports other departments by assisting with the implementation of Human Resources Programs.
Essential Duties:
- Administer various human resource plans and procedures for the ambassadors.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the employee handbook and the department policies and procedures manuals.
- Assist and maintain the HRIS system to maximum system capabilities. Understand system’s capabilities, provide suggestions and new ideas to promote efficiency using technology.
- Participate in the development of department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Participate and assist with the implementation of HR related training and internship programs.
- Participate and assist with the implementation of employee relation events.
- Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to encourage and support continuous improvement and efficiency of the department and department service delivery. Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Input, track and manage Purchase Orders according to company policies.
- Participate in department staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Ensure company policies and human resources processes are followed for all ambassadors.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Administer the hotel’s community outreach program and assist with the coordination of other company sponsored events such as Charity Walk and Holiday Party.
- Assist with the recruitment process for exempt and non-exempt positions.
- Assist with PRH internship programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Normal office setting with minimal exposure to outdoor working conditions.
- Must be able to occasionally drive to golf course or other off property locations as required.
- Work shifts are usually Monday to Friday with occasional weekends if necessary.
- Must be able to work long and irregular hours.
- Must be able to work a least 45 hours per week.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Must be able to stand, walk and/or sit continuously for a minimum of 9 hours to perform the essential job functions.
- Must be able to walk throughout the hotel.
- Must be able to demonstrate a cooperative team spirit, positive attitude, respect towards diversity, and a high regard for confidentiality.
- Must be able to travel to the neighbor island as needed.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language with ambassadors and guests.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to write manual, memos, policies and procedures.
- Must be able to facility and conduct presentations in front of small or large groups.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of Human Resources work experience.
- Must be able to service both internal and external guests with sincere warmth and care.
- Must be detail-oriented and be able to handle several projects at one time.
- Two years hospitality industry experience.
- College degree in human resources or related field.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
