Seamstress
Primary Responsibilities: Create, alter, and repair garments, bedding and cushion covers or other products as directed, using sewing machine or by hand sewing. Assist in answering the telephone, issuing uniforms or relieving the Uniform Attendant.
Essential Duties:
1. Create, alter, and repairs employee uniforms.
2. Draft patterns and custom sew garments and uniforms.
3. Sew cushions, tablecloths, bedspreads and other items are directed.
4. Repair linen, cushion covers, bedspreads and other items as directed.
5. Assist the uniform attendant as needed.
6. Repair guest clothing.
7. Follow safety procedures and policies.
8. Responsible in taking measurements and issuing uniforms to new hires.
9. Keep proper inventory of uniforms and supplies. Communicate any needs to Housekeeping manager.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Other Duties:
1. Assist in other positions in the departmentas directed by Housekeeping management
Working Conditions:
1. Works indoors in an air-conditioned located in the Uniform Room.
Work Hours:
1. Shifts cover the hours between 7 am to 3 pm
2. Must be able to work over 40 hours per week.
3. 7 day a week operation/days off will vary
Equipment Use:
1. Sewing machine, surging machine, and other tools related to sewing.
2. Telephone and electronic cloths rack
Mental and Physical Demands:
1. Strong organizational skills
2. Able to sit for an extended number of hours doing alterations or sewing garment.
3. Must be able to prioritize tasks to ensure proper service.
4. Must be able to bend and squat to take measurements
Communication Demands:
1. Must be able to effectively communicate with guest and ambassadors to assist with providing uniforms or resolve concerns.
2. Proper phone etiquette
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
1. Must be qualified to alter and repair uniforms
2. Able to create garments a plus
