About This Role:The Medical Records Supervisor will oversee the Medical Records Team at multiple locations across Prince William County, and serve as an overall administrative manager within the Business Operations Program.
The ideal candidate will provide supervision, training, and guidance to the entire Business Operations Program. The role will report on compliance with state and regulatory requirements and develop policies and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
In the role of Medical Records Supervisor, you will:
- Manage records requests in person, via fax, and through email in a timely and secure manner.
- Process incoming subpoenas in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
- Provide supervision and support to medical records technicians, ensuring smooth and compliant operations.
- Develop, maintain, and update policies and procedures related to records retention to comply with evolving regulations.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and organizational policies regarding medical records management.
You will also:
- Regularly travel between various sites to provide oversight and training.
- Ensure teams are informed and up to date with regulatory and organizational changes.
- Develop and implement procedures that promote operational efficiency and compliance.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma and 3 years of experience managing medical recordsPreferences:
2 years of experience in a supervisory role, particularly in a healthcare or behavioral health setting
2 years of experience in a healthcare environment
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, state/federal mandates, and records retention policies.
Special Requirements:
- Must pass TB test.
- Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint based National Criminal History Record Check. - Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services.
Work Schedule: M-F 08:00 AM-04:00PM
Starting Salary Range: $28.32 - $40.69
