About This Role:
Reporting to the Technology Services Division Chief and part of the Division’s Leadership Team, your role will be to supervise and have two (2) Business Systems Analysts as direct reports. The primary focus for you and your direct reports are to support technologies utilized by library staff. This includes, but not limited to working with County IT (DoIT) with desktops and laptops, mobile devices (iPads) plus various applications such as the integrated library system (ILS) and all electronic resources offered via the Digital Library.
Supervisory Role:
Work on hiring, counseling, training and evaluating their direct reports. Evaluations include setting annual goals and checking progress. Attend trainings and foster professional development.
Advanced, Tier 3 Support:
Serves as the system administrator for the integrated library system providing advanced, tier 3 support. Manage the various configurations of the ILS and lead efforts with upgrades to the system as new versions become available. This includes the testing and providing documentation for new functionalities and bug fixes. Utilize SQL and/or API knowledge for configuration and changes as needed by staff. Maintain SIP2 or other connection methods of 3rd party systems/applications authenticating with the ILS.
Project Management and System Analyses:
Analyze processes to improve business workflow and recommend solutions based on user requirements. Participate as a subject matter expert on RFP committees. Collaborate with the Division Chief to develop business cases and other project analysis documentation – cost/benefit analysis, risk analysis, etc. Lead efforts to prepare user documentation and provide end-user training.
Fiscal/Budget Management:
Assists the Division Chief with the management of the Technology Services Division budget. Initiates day to day procurement of technologies utilized by library staff. This includes new devices, software and subscriptions utilizing P-Cards or completing requisition documents for purchase orders (PO).
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and six (6) years of related IT experience analyzing systems, administration, design and implementation of various technologies, and one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Preferences:
The ideal candidate will have:
Supervisory experience, specifically training and developing staff and conducting performance evaluations
Experience supporting technologies in a public library or utilized by the public
Experience managing library specific technologies such as an integrated library system (ILS) plus authentication and maintenance of 3rd party systems connected to the ILS
Experience in creating technical documentation such as standard operating procedures or instructional documentation
Experience with configuration, maintenance, and Tier 3 COTS applications support
Experience with SQL for gathering/pulling data and/or making necessary changes to system tables
Experience leading projects and managing technology changes
Special Requirements:
The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business. This position requires a background check.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week exempt position located at the Administrative Support Center. Office hours are usually between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. However, this position will typically be “on-call” after normal office hours, including the weekend, once every four (4) weeks and available while library branches are open in case of emergency situations. There may be some remote work based on operational demands.
Starting Salary Range: $76,069 - $90,372.75
