Montclair Library is searching for a passionate and innovative Adult Services Senior Librarian to join our vibrant team! About This Role:
Plans and delivers adult programming and outreach for the community.
Member of the branch’s management team, supervising direct reports.
Assists patrons with library services, including reference, circulation, readers advisory and working with digital services.
Providing Reader’s Advisory and technology assistance.
Performs collection maintenance.
Foster community connections by serving as the primary liaison to local artists, coordinating the selection and display of their works for the branch’s Art Wall. Oversee initiatives related to the branch’s garden beds and seed library, promoting engagement and participation in these community-centered programs.
May serve as a passport acceptance agent.
May serve as a person in charge of the building.
Minimum Requirements:
This position requires Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited college/university and one year of supervisory experience.
Preferences:
Experience supervising professional staff to include hiring, training, performance management and the discipline process.
Experience planning and implementing programming and outreach.
Experience fostering community relations, particularly with local artists and local organizations.
Experience working in a public services library.
Experience with collection maintenance.
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt 37.5 hours per week position. Montclair Library is open Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule includes days, at least one evening per week, and alternating Saturdays as assigned. Scheduling flexibility is imperative. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library.
Hiring Range:
$70,921.50 – $84,444.75 / Yearly
