About This Role:
In this role, the Financial Regulatory Technician will be a part of a team that assists taxpayers at the Tax Administration’s front counters. The ideal candidate will be a positive, innovative team player, have a can-do attitude, and enjoy working professionally with a diverse group customer base. Able to assist taxpayers with general inquiries and answer tax-related questions based on the VA Codes and Laws. The candidate will also be responsible for accepting payments, updating accounts, and creating Business License and Tangible accounts.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Preferences:
• 2 years of cash handling/customer service experience.
• Data entry experience.
• Experience working in the public sector.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with multiple computer software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Automated Tax systems.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Experience with local and state codes, regulations, and ordinances, and the ability to answer in-depth questions related to tax assessment and collection.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a 37.5-hour work week. Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Location – Woodbridge or Manassas
Special Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check.
This position is not eligible for telework – must work in the office.
Hiring Range: $24.00 – $27.00
