This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary professional eager to shape the future of arts funding and make a lasting impact.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Director will be a key member of the leadership team, collaborating closely with the Business Manager and board members to develop and execute cutting-edge fundraising initiatives. This individual will spearhead efforts to expand our donor base, secure funding from diverse sources, and align development strategies with our mission and long-term goals.

With an annual operating budget of $1.3 million, we’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings fresh ideas to fundraising, and is passionate about arts education and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking, multi-year fundraising strategy that includes major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, annual campaigns, planned giving, and special events.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies to increase philanthropic support.
  • Oversee and optimize donor engagement programs, ensuring a personalized and meaningful experience for supporters at all levels.
  • Lead grant writing efforts, managing proposals, reports, and compliance in collaboration with the Business Manager.
  • Maintain and enhance the donor database (CRM) to ensure accurate records, reporting, and acknowledgment of contributions.
  • Analyze donor trends and past giving patterns to identify new opportunities and enhance fundraising strategies.
  • Develop and oversee the department budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and return on investment.
  • Inspire and mobilize board members, staff, and volunteers to actively participate in fundraising initiatives.
  • Plan and execute high-impact donor events, galas, and intimate engagement opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at community and industry events, strengthening partnerships with cultural and educational institutions.
  • Serve as a visible and engaged leader, fostering a culture of philanthropy and long-term sustainability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Philanthropy, Non-Profit Management, Arts Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of proven success in fundraising within non-profits, ideally in the arts, culture, or education sectors.
  • Skills: Exceptional organizational, strategic planning, and communication abilities; fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Mindset: A creative and proactive problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Why Join Us?

  • Hybrid work model with both in-person and remote flexibility.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including health and dental coverage, tuition reduction, paid vacation, and holidays.
  • Opportunity to make a tangible impact in a thriving arts community.

If you’re a dynamic fundraiser with a passion for the arts and a track record of driving growth, we’d love to hear from you!
