SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Maintenance Director oversees the Maintenance Manager and day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of the organization’s facilities, equipment, and machinery through planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance activities to ensure machine reliability and minimizing unexpected downtime.

· Know and understand equipment operation, set-up and all necessary adjustments by reading equipment manuals and participating in the set-up process,

· Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for maintenance in the production department.

· Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.

· Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures; Participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

· Monitor and control supplies, order supplies and tools as necessary.

· Train or coordinate training in facility maintenance and safety methods, procedures, and techniques.

· Understanding of all department GMP guidelines.

· Understanding and application of all department SOP’s.

· General maintenance of equipment used in the manufacturing areas.

· Set up production equipment on all filling lines.

· Electrical and mechanical repairs.

· Diagnosis to component level of equipment.

· Motivate, inspire, and empower maintenance technicians. Share company vision and set clear goals.

· Encourage teamwork and continuous communication. Give positive feedback while also listening to and understanding employees’ concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Operations, services, and activities of a production maintenance, training and repair program. Materials, methods, terminology, equipment and tools used in the maintenance, repair/ Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.

Basic principles budget preparation and administration.

Equipment, tools and materials used in facility maintenance activities. Construction and project management principles.

Principles and practices of safety management.

Ability to:

Organize, implement, and direct production maintenance operations and activities. Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff.

Interpret and explain pertinent department policies and procedures.

Perform the most complex maintenance duties and operate related equipment.

Develop and recommend systems and procedures related to assigned operations. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of supervisory training, management, or a related field. 5S, six Sigma methodologies.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of increasingly responsible maintenance experience, including management experience. Engineering experience preferred. (Degree or on-the-job training)
  • 2-5 year of Norden Machinery experience.

License or Certificate:

HAZCOM
Fall protection Training
Possession of an appropriate Forklift operator training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
