Position: Director of Bands- Princeton High School
Reports to: Building Principal and District Director of Fine Arts
Contract Period: 12 months/240 Days
Qualifications:
- Exemplary student-focused teacher/muscian
- Valid Texas state teacher certification- All Level Music
- Bachelor's degree required
- Previous high school band experience required
- Demonstrated success on the regional and state levels as a 5A/6A band director
Criteria for Selection Will Include:
- Enthusiastic instructional skills to manage and direct the Princeton High School band instruction in grades 6-12 with a goal towards continuous improvement in student performance, partcipation, and success in the program.
- Demonstrated expertise in music curriculum and instructional methods, leading to the preparation of advanced band literature to an exemplary level of performance.
- Demonstrated organizational and instructional skills to develop and maintain a high quality marching band program that is aligned with current design trends.
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility through efficient use of staff, materials, and resources, while ensuring all district and booster club funds are expended transparently and in the best interest of the organization.
- Evidence of communication skills to promote a shared vision of the program, while fostering harmony and teamwork with students,parents, colleagues,camp staff and central staff.
- Leadership and communication skills to maintain a positive working relationship with the Princeton Band Boosters.
- Possession of the highest standards of professional integrity and respect in student, parent,school, and community relationships.
- Leadership skills to manage instructional and support staff of percussion, color guard, and private music teachers.
