Princeton Radiology Associates is a physician group practice currently providing diagnostic imaging services at 11 imaging centers and two hospitals throughout New Jersey and now Pennsylvania.
Princeton Radiology is currently seeking a full-time Radiology Operations Manager for our outpatient diagnostic imaging center in Monroe, New Jersey.
Summary of Position:
The Radiology Operations Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls the daily administrative and clinical operations of assigned multi-modality outpatient diagnostic imaging centers. Responsible for planning, staffing, performance management, communication, compliance with standards and regulations, customer service, quality initiatives, the application of mission and values, and organizational improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Direct all imaging center activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations for front desk patient flow, patient care, and quality assurance.
- Manage a staff of approximately 30 employees and direct all staff activities including, coordinating schedules, reviewing and approving bi-weekly time cards.
- Ensure the selection of qualified staff for the centers. Provide guidance and coaching to direct reports. Ensure staff receives timely feedback on performance by adhering to established evaluation procedures. Responsible for maintaining employee engagement.
- Develop, implement, and administer procedures and best practices to streamline processes for centers operations.
- Assist with the development of goals and project plans in line with organization strategic plans.
- Assess centers performance through quality control, continuous quality improvement, procedure volumes, and other pertinent indicators of success.
- Ensure regular communication with internal and external customers within areas of responsibility. Convey issues to senior management timely and ensure direct reports are kept informed on organizational issues and developments.
- Resolve complaints from patients, referring physicians, radiologists, and organizational departments in a timely manner.
- Identify requirements and ensure compliance with the many accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies dealing specifically with diagnostic imaging practices including quality assurance, infection control, patient safety, radiation safety, and OSHA.
- Identify opportunities to enhance services provided to the community and all customers internal or external.
- Ensure imaging services are conveniently available to meet the needs of patients as determined by the medical staff; recommends and implements corrective action whenever necessary.
- Oversee the accreditation, use and maintenance of the equipment and facilities.
- Initiate contact with referring physicians in order to maintain open lines of communication, solicit opinions and input regarding services being provided.
- Develop controls and initiate audit tools to reduce or eliminate lost charges through the Radiology Information System.
- Ensure the PACS and RIS function of diagnostic imaging services is operating efficiently and providing the essential diagnostic information to all internal and external customers.
- Attend and participate in operations/manager meetings.
- Participate in and/or lead various projects as identified by management to support programs and initiatives.
- Contribute to and participate on various internal and external committees as appropriate or assigned.
- Continue personal and professional growth by staying abreast of technical developments in area of expertise.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an approved school of medical radiography with five (5) years recent work experience as a RT, RDMS or CNMT, including two years in a management capacity required.
- Sound analytical ability, excellent judgment and strong operational focus.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians, patients, visitors, staff and the broader health care community.
- Exemplary organization, communication, project, and prioritization skills.
- Exhibit sound analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven expertise in compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Self‐starter who is results focused, consistently able to meet critical deadlines and adapts well to change.
- Experience working with RIS and PACS preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and Internet.
