What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Safety Officer- On Call Pool position at Princeton Theological Seminary?
The Princeton Theological Seminary's Public Safety Department currently has openings for part time on call pool positions
This is an on-call position with no regularly assigned hours or shift but does offer a flexible work schedule. On- call officers will complete a detailed training program and then be offered open shifts for special events, security details, PTO coverage, and other additional staffing needs. On call officers will need to coordinate availability with management for periodic refresher training/campus familiarization as needed.

Our public safety officers perform a variety of security/loss prevention and dispatch services to enhance the safe environment of the Seminary by utilizing proactive patrol methods. Support all Seminary events, Security and Facilities initiatives, and enforce Seminary policies and regulations as well as state and local laws on campus. Our Public safety officers also operate the campus shuttle and provide limited transportation services to and from area transportations hubs. Officers must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as demonstrate the highest level of professionalism at all times. Our public safety officers demonstrate de-escalation skills, solid decision-making skills, and can respond to all types of emergencies with a calm, cool, non-anxious demeanor. Public safety officers may be called upon to respond to campus for emergency situations as well as to assist with large events and staffing shortages. All Public safety officers must have or be able to obtain national CPR/First Aide/ AED certification and participate in all Seminary sponsored training events as assigned.
Qualifications
3 years Public Safety experience in a campus or hospital setting or a combination of experience and advanced education in criminal justice or a related field.
Pass and maintain a clear Criminal history
Valid driver license with a clear motor vehicle history
Ability to kneel, crouch, and deploy motor vehicle immobilization device
Ability to carry a fire extinguisher up 4 flights of stairs
Ability to pursue and detain/identify criminal offenders, and restrain disorderly persons.
