At Princeton Precision Group, we are committed to delivering high-quality products that meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry. We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Tool and Die Maker to join our team.
This role involves collaborating with engineering teams to design, manufacture, and maintain precision tools and dies used in the production of aerospace components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with manual and CNC machining equipment, as well as knowledge of various metals and alloys used in aerospace manufacturing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Manufacturing, modifying, and maintaining precision tools and dies according to blueprints, CAD drawings, and engineering specifications
- Operating various machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machinery to produce high-precision aerospace parts
- Inspecting finished tools and dies using precision measuring equipment to ensure they meet tight aerospace tolerances and specifications
- Diagnosing and repairing damaged or malfunctioning dies, tools, and fixtures to minimize production downtime
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; technical training or a degree in Tool and Die Making, Machining, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker, preferably in the aerospace or precision manufacturing industries
- Expert-level reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models
- Strong experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machining equipment
- Strong knowledge of various metals and alloys used in aerospace manufacturing
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Expert attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to problem solve autonomously or with a team
- Experience working within AS9100 or similar aerospace quality management systems
- Familiarity with industry-standard safety practices and compliance
- Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
