What You'll Do

As a Sr. Associate on our Marketing Communications team, you’ll create and manage integrated marketing communications to promote the company's brand image to help drive business results.  You'll be the creative/content lead on assigned projects and deliver tactics including digital, email marketing, social and/or print communications, as well as participate in strategic marketing planning, manage execution of plans with limited direction and contribute to an environment that encourages teamwork, knowledge sharing, best practice adherence, and strategic thinking that results in consistently high-quality and innovative communication outcomes that deliver on-time, on-strategy, and on-budget. 

 

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you'll do when you join our team: 

 

  • Content Strategy: Independently develop, organize, and manage integrated marketing communication programs and strategies. Translate marketing/business plans, competitive research and information into effective, efficient and innovative communications that support business unit goals. Plan, organize, manage and control marketing communications projects. Write, edit, proofread, and copyedit materials, adhering to the Principal brand style guide and AP style. Assist in the identification and analyzing of industry trends to recommend new strategies and solutions to grow marketplace competitiveness.
  • Data-Driven Digital/Content Marketing: Manage digital strategy, including facilitation of email marketing strategies, targeted, well-written web content, and social media. Participate in content strategy development and execution across all marketing channels to increase brand awareness, engagement, acquisition, retention and pipeline. Measure and analyze effectiveness of campaigns. Contribute to a test-and-learn environment. Extrapolate insights to apply to future campaigns, and share best practices with team members and project partners.
  • Project/Resource Management: Manage projects/resources to accomplish marketing communication objectives in an effective and efficient manner. Manage project execution workflow, timing, budget, reporting and results. Balance need for top-quality communications with high impact and accuracy with prudent cost containment. Partner with others to rectify problems with the projects and processes.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and serve as liaison across the enterprise, IT, digital resources, and marketing to lead marketing campaigns. Serve as liaison to and between external advertising agencies, technology firms, print suppliers and other marketing related vendors.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 4 years related marketing communications and project management with a financial services firm or advertising agency with similar client base experience required.
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate experience in applying various digital platforms and experience with content marketing as well as implementing full scale integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Diplomacy skills, confidence, and tact required.
  • Experience with project management, problem-solving, analytical, presentation, listening, and oral and written communication skills required.

Successful candidate will have the following:

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in a matrix-driven environment, manage expectations and focus on results-orientation in a deadline-driven, multiple project environment.
  • Travel, including overnight stays, may be required up to 5-10% of the time.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$51000 - $98400 / year
Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC
