We are seeking a multifaceted individual to support our Chief Information Officer (CIO) by facilitating the development and execution of key initiatives that align with our business strategy. This role will maintain oversight of priority projects, lead critical communication strategies, and ensure detailed communication within the technology team and across the enterprise.
Strategic Support:
- Assist the CIO in developing and implementing key business initiatives.
- Maintain a comprehensive view of priority project execution.
- Lead all aspects of critical communication strategies within the technology team and across business units.
Project Management:
- Navigate highly ambiguous environments and handle key projects.
- Embrace and promote technology community initiatives.
- Lead and supervise internal and external communications regarding global business and technology strategy.
Team Leadership:
- Lead the Technology Communications and Training team.
- Develop and execute communication strategies to support the technology organization.
Alignment and Planning:
- Support strategic and operational priorities by aligning goals with key initiatives.
- Assist in plan development and execution, ensuring alignment with interpersonal priorities.
Initiative Support:
- Collaborate with the CIO Working Group (CIOWG) on key technology initiatives from inception through successful execution.
- Participate in critical efforts such as annual strategy planning, talent development, and M&A activities.
Request Management:
- Proactively handle and assess requests from various stakeholders, including media, sales, business partners, and financial partners.
- Ensure CIOWG readiness for internal forums, executive and board meetings, public speaking engagements, and customer interactions.
Communication Strategy:
- Understand and articulate the enterprise and technology strategy to various audiences (Board, EMG, CIOs, external tech community).
- Identify key messages and adapt presentations to suit different audiences.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Build strong working relationships with VP-level leaders and other key partners.
- Serve as the conduit for information, facilitating communication at the executive and leadership level.
- Provide coaching and feedback to team members and collaborators.
Problem Solving:
- Work behind the scenes to resolve issues on behalf of the leadership team.
- Collaborate across functional and organizational committees to protect and promote technology critical initiatives
Who You Are
Educational Background and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in IT.
- Ability to dive into any area of IT, understand business needs, and facilitate decisions based on changing priorities.
Project Management:
- Proven track record to supervise, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success.
- Utilize data and metrics to communicate needs optimally, akin to a business unit owner.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well across teams, leading and influencing across functions and with senior management.
Technical and Leadership Skills:
- Hands-on experience in communications.
- Emerging leadership capabilities, such as workflow development and process optimization.
Adaptability and Problem-Solving:
- High tolerance for ambiguity and complexity.
- Efficient despite limited resources.
- Assist in vetting ideas with the senior leadership team and anticipate the needs of the CIO leader.
Integrity and Confidentiality:
- Highest level of integrity.
- Skilled in managing confidential information.
Self-Motivation and Relationship Building:
- Comfortable operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with VP-level leaders and others across the company, as well as deep within the organization.

- Ability to mentor and be coached, giving and receiving feedback.
- Work behind the scenes to solve problems and address issues on behalf of the leadership team.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$137000 - $185000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers a hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) in our corporate office in Des Moines, Iowa.
