Primary Purpose:
To contribute to the effective operation of the Printing Services Department.
To assist with duplicating, and bindery equipment in a production environment.
To assist in meeting the printing needs of the district in an economic and expeditious manner.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school graduate or GED equivalency
- Some college or business school training preferred
- Qualifies for state paraprofessional certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Basic math skills
- Ability to prioritize workflow to address the multiple needs of the department
- Ability to maintain flexibility while working with various levels of administration
- Demonstrate proper phone etiquette
- Familiar with budgets and accounting practices
- Knowledgeable of safety requirements for office operation
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to follow instructions
- Proficient typing, keyboarding and file maintenance skills
- Proficiency level with computers to develop spreadsheets, databases, charts,
- Good communication skills and ability to work with people
Experience:
- Five (5) years minimum office procedures experience and personnel practices preferred
- Five (5) years minimum related experience basic Printer, Multi-Function Printer and Multi-Function Device knowledge; and ancillary machinery.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Printing Services
- Complete work assigned in a prompt and efficient manner and in accordance with accepted methods and policies of the Printing Services
- Follow Printing Services guidelines and established
- Follow all safety rules and
- Log in and sort all printing requests according to established
- Check make-ready work received on printing requests for accuracy and correct preparation as described in the Printing Services
- Assist district personnel in the preparation and coordination of printing
- Assist in the preparation and correction of layouts and pre-press work necessary for the completion of printing
- Assist with equipment software to ensure the effective operation of the
- Complete paper work necessary for the shipment of completed distribution
- Check in warehouse orders, receive purchase orders and complete appropriate paper
- Operate equipment to expedite production when
- Assist in maintaining physical and computerized departmental
- Compile pertinent data and prepare departmental reports when
- Prepare purchase orders and requisitions for approval when
- Perform routine bookkeeping tasks to maintain departmental budget records when
- Review and monitor the quality of all work within defined levels of
- Perform overtime when required to meet the printing needs of the district. The supervisor will give a reasonable notice of one week when possible; shorter notice if there are emergency district needs.

- Answer incoming calls, takes messages and handles requests that fall within level of

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Manual Trades – Central Distribution Personnel.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Printing equipment: camera reproduction devices, digital duplicators, multifunctional devices, and operates digital presses to produce black & white and color images. Bindery equipment: cutters, collating machinery, drilling machine, laminating machine, GBC and Spiraling machines, shrink wrapping machine, and other ancillary equipment to produce the final product. Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, carrying, crawling, pushing, pulling, and reaching frequently
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; climbing stairs, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Ability to lift and reach over head up to 50 lbs. Carrying: 50 lbs. frequently and over 50 lbs. occasionally
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel. Working in temperatures that range from 0o – 100o F. Works with and around pressroom chemicals.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress Vision and Hearing: Moderate to maximum
