Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide support to nursing staff in delivering patient care within inpatient settings.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Help patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Engage with patients through conversation and companionship to promote emotional well-being.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as PICU, Level I and II Trauma Centers, and outpatient clinics.
Skills
- Experience or familiarity with working in a PICU or Level I Trauma Center is preferred.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine practices is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment within medical-surgical units or operating rooms (OR).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately with patients and their families.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in providing care.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and care plans within diverse healthcare settings.
