The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and directing the several functions in the organization including Infrastructure, Operations, Load/Gen management, HSE/ESG, Marketing, Revenue Operations, Information Technology, M&A Integration, and Risk Management. In conjunction with the executive team, he/she will contribute to the strategic direction of the company and take a significant role in implementing the strategy, setting, and driving the agenda for progress, facilitating change, driving outcomes, and leading by example.

The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and directing the several functions in the organization including Infrastructure, Operations, Load/Gen management, HSE/ESG, Marketing, Revenue Operations, Information Technology, M&A Integration, and Risk Management. In conjunction with the executive team, he/she will contribute to the strategic direction of the company and take a significant role in implementing the strategy, setting, and driving the agenda for progress, facilitating change, driving outcomes, and leading by example.
The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the following:
- Provide leadership and support to internal departments in conducting the company’s business strategy, goals, and outcomes.
- Provide leadership and management to drive outcomes that help achieve long-term growth plans.
- Lead and oversee the full process of integrating acquisitions to ensure the integration is smooth, efficient, and maximizes value. This includes (but not limited to): development of the project plan for integration, communications, coordination with other departments, systems alignment, change management, synergy identification, and overall KPIs to track the success of the integration.
- Manage and lead the infrastructure group including the procurement, development, and construction of the critical infrastructure assets that help our clients obtain efficient, reliable, and low-cost energy.
- Develop a collaborative relationship across departments to successfully balance quality and efficiency in delivering outcomes.
- Inspire, engage, and empower capabilities to support and scale commercial growth through customer-centric programs.
- Provide leadership to the marketing & branding function to enhance the company’s market facing presence, social media branding, tradeshow presence, external website, SEO strategy, etc. in support of commercial growth strategy and plans.
- Strengthen business and market intelligence capability to support commercial activities and client support.
- Provide leadership and best in class health, safety, and environmental practices across the business.
- Establish best in class Revenue Operations and Analytics team to effectuate and track all incoming new and existing sales, renewals, managing data in CRM platform, and roll up the monthly commission payments in partnership with finance and HR.
- Provide leadership and management to a department of ~65 employees (Infrastructure, HSE/ESG, Risk Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Load/Gen Mgmt., Operations, Revenue Operations, M&A Integration).
- 18 years of operating experience in the Energy/Power Sector.
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
- Experience in private equity portfolio companies preferred.
- Commercial Orientation: Experience and commercial acumen, ideally including an extensive track record of success in an energy-centric services firm.
- Infrastructure/Grid Management: Direct experience in the procure, build and operate disciplines for infrastructure development and operations.
- Process Transformation: Demonstrated experience transforming business processes with a focus on customer mindset. Has shown he/she can partner with various aspects of the business to best benefit the end user.
- Industry Relevance: Applicable industry experience from organizations involved in energy and commodity trading, production, or distribution. Ability to understand complex industry issues.
- M&A Integration: Demonstrated experience in successfully integrating acquisitions from tuck ins to large deals.
- Envision and deliver the operations strategy; critically review the organization from an enterprise-wide lens, have a broad perspective on relative positioning amongst industry peers.
- Demonstrate exceptional project management skills with the ability to lead through influence across an organization. Develop strong relationships to drive toward a common goal.
- Proven ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and succinct manner – both in writing and verbally – with all levels of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Lead continuous improvement with a focus on effectiveness and efficiency by continuously monitoring team progress and performance against goals, projects, and baseline work.
