What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Accounting position at Prism Resources?
Prism Resources connects corporate talent with South Florida's top companies. offering over 50 years in business, our client is an established leader in their industry with operations across Florida. They have an immediate hiring need for a VP of Accounting to lead an accounting team with over 20 members. In addition to corporate accounting, financial reporting and compliance, this individual will be highly involved in the developing and implementing workflow improvements, leading the budgeting process, and overseeing an ERP implementation.

What you'll be doing:
- Manage accounting department and ensure that the team maintains accurate and timely financial records in accordance with GAAP
- Coordinate the monthly closing schedule.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Review and approve monthly financial statements
- Serve as lead on annual audit and tax return preparation.
- Develop and implement training for the accounting team to continuously improve on business processes
- Establish annual budgets; review and approve the budget for upload into the accounting system; monitor performance against budget targets.
- Collaborate with all corporate departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions, proper expense allocation, and adherence to accounting principles.
- Develop and maintain relationships with tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Assess and evaluate financial performance of the company, providing insight and guidance to support critical financial, program, and operational initiatives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership based on accounting and financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university. CPA highly preferred.
- Over 15 years' experience in corporate accounting, manufacturing industry background preferred.
- Strong management and team building skills
- Experience utilizing large ERP systems. ERP system implementation experience is a plus.
