Key Responsibilities:
Systems Analysis & Design
- Conduct formal system analysis and design to enhance healthcare software functionality.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Define workflows, data structures, and system processes for optimal performance.
- Document system requirements using UML, use cases, process flow diagrams, and wireframes.
Project Management & Implementation
- Lead commercial software implementation, customization, and integration projects.
- Develop and manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate with vendors, IT teams, and business users for system deployment and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and HL7 standards.
Healthcare Systems & Practice Management
- Analyze and improve practice management (PMS) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Provide recommendations for system optimization, workflow automation, and usability improvements.
- Work with clinical and administrative teams to align IT solutions with healthcare operational goals.
Data Conversion & Migration
- Lead data conversion and migration efforts for system upgrades and transitions.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) patient records, billing data, and historical transactions.
- Validate and reconcile migrated data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Stakeholder Communication & Training
- Act as a liaison between IT teams, business users, and vendors.
- Conduct user training and provide documentation for new system features and processes.
- Support change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in healthcare IT, EMR/PMS, and software implementation.
- Strong knowledge of systems analysis methodologies, SDLC, and project management best practices.
- Experience with commercial healthcare software, extensions, and integrations.
- Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of API integrations, HL7, FHIR, and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Familiarity with data conversion, ETL processes, and migration strategies.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with athenaHealth, Nextech, or similar EMR/PMS platforms.
- Certifications in CBAP, PMP, or ITIL.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS regulations).
Occasional travel required
