About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our team at Laurens County Medical Campus. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of procedures applying ionizing radiation, communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and providing excellent patient care.
Essential Functions

You will identify patients and procedures, communicate with nursing or physician concerning patient needs, and inform nursing of patients requiring IV sedation or biopsies. You will also fill out questionnaires on all patients between the ages of 12-55 years old, position patients accurately for all CT procedures, and ensure that patients are transferred and positioned correctly for anatomy to be demonstrated for best visibility.
You will be knowledgeable of scanning protocols in depth and must be able to perform procedures correctly using the protocol book for reference. Studies must be done in a timely manner and taken to the radiologist for interpretation as soon as possible after completion of the exam.
You will obtain appropriate supplies and prepare the room for the patient, keep the room cleaned and stocked at all times, and ensure that adequate supplies and linens are always available. Tables and trays must be cleaned after each patient, and you must use proper technique when injecting IV contrast.
You will respond to codes and other emergency situations appropriately, explain the CT procedure to the patient and/or family member, obtain completed questionnaires and proper history and clinical from the patient, floor, or physician's office, and inform patients and families of all delays.
You will train co-workers and students, assist other technologists when not busy in assigned CT rooms, acquire requisitions and check for appropriate clinical, charge procedure, supplies, and surgical codes when the exam is completed, and operate the PACS system appropriately and verify studies before sending to archive.
You will report equipment problems to the supervisor, in-charge tech, and document confirmation numbers, complete appropriate forms for all procedures, fill out contrast sheets on all patients receiving IV and rectal contrast, and communicate with the radiologist to determine appropriate protocols for each exam.
You will demonstrate recognition of anatomy and pathology as related to the scan being processed, perform warm-up calibrations as needed, maintain competency needed for working in the CT department, and perform point-of-care testing.
You will perform other duties as assigned.

- This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Certification Program: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Experience - No experience required

- SCQRSA License
