Responsibilities and Requirements
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of procedures involving ionizing radiation, working under the direction of the manager and in-charge technologist.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing CT scans as directed by the radiologist, using proper scanning protocols and techniques to achieve optimal image quality;
- Positioning patients accurately for all CT procedures, communicating with physicians and other work-related personnel appropriately;
- Obtaining appropriate supplies and preparing rooms for patients, maintaining a clean and organized workspace at all times;
- Operating the PACS system, verifying studies before sending them to archive, and reporting equipment problems to supervisors and in-charge technologists.
Required qualifications include ARRT certification in CT, registration in Radiologic Technology, and SCQRSA License, as well as CPR certification, excellent customer service skills, and basic computer skills.
Preferred qualifications include experience with 3D imaging and knowledge of anatomy and pathology related to scan being processed.
