Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Private Chef to join our team. As a Private Chef, you will be responsible for creating exceptional culinary experiences for our clients in the comfort of their own home. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your creativity and culinary expertise while providing personalized and high-quality dining experiences.
The role ideally is a hybrid role, with 50% of the time prepping, shopping, and preparing off site, and 50% of the time on site cooking and prepping meals. The client is a family of 7, with 5 children under the age of 10 (3 children reside part time). The family enjoys eating healthy and clean, mainly follows a Mediterranean diet, and also obviously kid friendly. The family values their privacy and personal space, and employs a small staff of a Property Manager, Nanny and Housekeeper.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook meals according to the client's preferences, dietary restrictions, and nutritional needs
- Plan menus, taking into consideration dietary requirements and seasonal ingredients
- Shop for groceries and select the freshest and highest quality ingredients
- Manage food inventory and ensure proper storage and organization, pantry maintenance
- Coordinate with household staff to ensure smooth meal service
- Responsible for preparing and serving lunch and dinner, as well as healthy snacks/juices/baked goods for the following day
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and work area
- Collaborate with clients to create customized menus for special occasions or events
- Stay up-to-date with culinary trends and techniques to continuously enhance your skills
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Private Chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of food management, shift management, kitchen management, catering, dietary department, food preparation, restaurant management, leadership, and food service
- Excellent culinary skills with a focus on presentation and flavor
- Ability to create diverse menus that cater to different tastes and dietary restrictions
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Requirements:
- Ideal candidates are local to the Peninsula, home is located in Los Altos Hills
- Prefer 2-3 star Michelin experience, minimum of 5 years experience, backed by a culinary degree or certificate
- Candidates must possess healthy boundaries and understand the in-home dynamic
- Candidates must be authorized to work legally in the United States
- Must have long term intent
- Must be willing to undergo an in-depth background investigation
- Looking for candidates with a great, can-do attitude who can interact professionally and pleasantly with the family and other team members
- Must be discreet, organized, and sensitive to client's needs
- Must be comfortable around children and a dog
