Job Description
General Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for Medical Assistant duties
for RSDS.
- Ensure charts are prepped for clinic at least two days out
- Discharge patients- including checkout when needed
- Discuss orders, medication, testing (prep), inhaler demo, patient assistance
- Programs, DME, etc. with patients
- Check tasks throughout the day and ensure all patients receive a call back by the
- end of the business day
- Assist rooming MA with rooming and injections as needed
- Prior authorizations for Medications and Pre-certs on testing (if needed)
- 6-minute walks per schedule
- Faxes and scans daily
- Review tasks with Physician at end of each clinic
- Float when required
- **Other duties as assigned**
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program with active RMA, CCMA, CMA, or NCMA certification is preferred
- Minimum 1-year experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting
- Knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
